LOVE, GILDA is a unique window into the world of Gilda Radner. Director Lisa D'Apolito unearthed a collection of diaries and personal audio and videotapes documenting her childhood, comedy career, relationships and, her struggles with cancer.

From the 1970s thru the 1990s, the hippest and most outrageous comedy in print was the National Lampoon. The groundbreaking humor magazine pushed the limits of taste and acceptability. The National Lampoon launched the careers of legends like John Belushi, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Christopher Guest, Gilda Radner and many more.

The next generation of Griswolds is at is again, and on the road for another ill-fated adventure. Following in his father's footsteps and hoping for some much-needed family bonding, a grown-up Rusty Griswold surprises his wife, and their two sons with a cross-country trip back to Wally World.

The story centers around Danny Noonan, who is desperate to win the college scholarship awarded to the best caddy at Bushwood Country Club. Also involved are a millionaire who wants to turn the golf course into a a new property development and a greenskeeper who is about to start World War III--against a gopher.

Never-before-seen footage and journal entries form the narrative spine of the documentary, allowing Gilda Radner to tell her own story; through the laughter and sometimes the tears. Incredibly, she was able to find humor in even the darkest of times. Her spirit lives on in comedy as a female trailblazer who continues to inspire many present day comedic performers.
