Description
Two longtime Commodores execs, Bob Curtis, President, and Chuck Sturtevant, General Manager, share their love of college baseball in this lively discussion on the 100th anniversary of the Cape league "where the stars of tomorrow shine today." The team played on the Falmouth Heights field until the 1960s when they moved to their current home at Guv Fuller Field. One of the original teams in the Cape League, the Falmouth Commodores is a non-profit, supported by businesses, sponsorships, and donations from fans. Gate volunteers and committees for housing, fundraising, and fan relations coordinate the season for the 30-man roster and 40 game schedule each summer. In their discussion, they fondly remember Al Irish, Jeff Trundy, and Arnie Allen, all involved with the Commodores for many years. In addition to serving as a pipeline to the Major Leagues for players, the team highlights the work of local non-profits at its games and holds youth clinics.
